Improbably, a gleefully eccentric mathematics professor (Maurice Benichou) has won the national lottery twice in four days and boasts that he’ll do it again. Angèle (Elsa Zylberstein), head of the government's fraud bureau, is baffled. She’s sure the mathematician is a scam artist but how to prove it? Ah, she’ll hire Jacques, her boyfriend and ex-scam artist as a consultant. Lhermitte, Zylberstein and Benichou are clearly having a delightful time with the hands they’ve been dealt. Bénégui is the director of Au petit Marguery (Cinéfranco 1995) and producer of Du poil sous les roses (Cinéfranco 2000).
