A charming film with an offbeat premise: during a Montreal heat wave, an advertising executive on a sabbatical (Anne-Marie Cadieux) embarks on a personal survey – videotaping interviews with everyone she meets on the nature of happiness. On her journey, Cadieux encounters an African musician, a conflicted drug addict and other Montrealers who, sweltering in the heat, are just too hot to be bothered with her. This off-the-beaten-track look at the city offers a fresh view of its beauty.
