Directed by Philippe Laïk

Condemned for an odious crime, the Belgian Emiel Ferfaille is to have his head cut off. The kingdom of Belgium has to borrow a guillotine from France (known in France as the Widow-maker), and Deibler, her best executioner.
In March 1918, Deibler, two assistants, and a few soldiers leave for Furnes, the Belgian prison. The dangers that await them are intensified by their disputes over the death penalty. At the centre of the brutality of the conflicts, the executioner himself wants only to complete his mission. This macabre journey vehemently denounces the absurdity of it all: simply in order to kill one more man, others will fall .... Poignant!
