Winner of Berlin’s 2001Golden Bear for Intimacy, Chéreau returns with a film, at once deeply moving and strangely cool, about two brothers reclaiming their relationship as one faces death. Luc (Eric Caravaca) has drifted away from his family. When his older brother Thomas (Bruno Todeschini) is diagnosed with a grave illness, Luc decides accompany him on his journey towards recovery or death. His Brother is a powerful exploration of love and loss, intimacy and courage, risks and accidents. Both Todeschini and Caravaca give masterful, intricate performances.
