ELLE ET MOI

(She and I)

By Marie-Pier (Meky) Ottawa

2008 | 6 min | Fiction, Poetic | Canada French with English subtitles

This short fiction film tells the story of a tumultuous, pervasive and devastating homosexual relationship. When one commits suicide, the other is left with the questioning, the shame, the nightmare. Fear of the call of the void, fear of the world, fear of doing the same fatal act. A palpable distress, a shattering inner monologue. This poetic work was filmed among the Atikamekws, in the community of Manawan.
