Envole-Moi (Fly Me Away)

Dramedy | France, Italy | 2021 | 91 min | French (English Subtitles) For 16 years of age and older
By Christophe Barratier
With: Victor Belmondo, Yoann Eloundou, Gérard Lanvin

Thomas, a blasé young man, spends his nights in clubs and his days in bed. Until his father, Dr. Reinhard, fed up with his son’s escapades, cuts him off completely and forces him to take care of one of his young patients. Marcus, 12, was born with a serious congenital disorder. He lives with his mother in the poor suburbs of Paris and spends his days either at the hospital or in a center for sick children. This encounter will disrupt their lives and change them both, profoundly and forever.

Film Reviews

The interpretation of the two headliners is convincing, the filmmaker having offered Victor Belmondo a leading role and the spectators, the opportunity to see Yoann Eloundou take his first steps in cinema. We will also note the performance of Marie-Sohna Condé, the actress being as funny as it is touching in the role of Marcus’ mother.

The well-crafted screenplay is an adaptation of a true story. Envole-moi is a simple feel good movie focused on the importance of getting to know people and thus stimulating vocations.
