Geneviève Mallette | 2021 | 13 min
Documentary | Canada (Québec) | French (English subtitles)

The documentary sheds light on le cinéma Beaubien, a charming little movie theatre in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie district of Montreal. In the early 2000s, the cinema survived the bankruptcy of the giant Cinéplex Odeon. Thanks to the mobilization of citizens, filmmakers, traders and politicians, the cinema was able to free itself from its old name, Le Dauphin, to become the Cinéma Beaubien and continue to exist. Over the last 20 years, it has been located in front of the magnificent Molson Park, with its outdoor ticket office and illuminated marquee.
