VENISE N'EST PAS EN ITALIE
November 29, 6 p.m.
Comedy | 94 min | North American Premiere
Émile, 14 years old, manoeuvres as he can his teenage years in a small town in the Paris region, between a father working as a trade representative, whimsical and eccentric, and a mother not so much more sane, who dyes the hair of their son blond every month, because he is more handsome like that. When Pauline, the high school girl with whom he is in love, invites Émile to Venice for a concert at La Fenice, Bernard decides that the whole family will accompany him in their camping caravan… for an incredible coming-of-age journey.
A pure comedy feast.
— Le Parisien
For this eventful road trip, [the director] has embarked with him Valérie Bonneton and Benoît Poelvoorde, perfect, eccentric but endearing, parents.
This comedy is worth the detour for the beautiful energy displayed by its cast.
